About Giza


The city of Giza is one of the oldest cities in the world with a 5,000 year old history. It is a part of the Greater Cairo metropolis and is located on the west bank of the Nile river that separates it from Cairo. A number of bridges link both banks of the Nile with Al-Rawḍah and Al-Zamalik islands which are prominent areas in Cairo. Giza is considered a major center for industry, commerce, and tourism as it is connected to the rest of Egypt’s governorates with The Cairo-Aswan railway that has a main station in the city.

These monuments are none other than the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx. The top industrial areas in Giza are Abo Rwash Industrial Zone, the 6th of October Industrial Zone, and Al Wahat (Heavy) Industrial zone.
